A recent ANG national projects was a project for NASA where 123 patches from manned space missions were stitched by ANG members across the country. There were stitchers from the San Diego chapter who worked on patches.
On May 23, 2000 there was a grand reopening of the visitor's center at NASA's Stennis Space Center in Mississippi. The mission patches that the ANG members stitched are featured in a special exhibit in the newly renovated museum, StennisSphere and are located at the entrance to the new addition of the museum, Millennium Hall.
